NCCAOM
Established in 1982, NCCAOM is the only national organization that validates entry-level competency in the practice of acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) through professional certification. NCCAOM certification, or a passing score on the NCCAOM certification examinations, documents competency for licensure as an acupuncturist by 46 states plus the District of Columbia, representing 98 percent of the states that regulate acupuncture. NCCAOM handles certification and re-certification, NCCAOM exam development and continuing with our core values.
All NCCAOM certification programs are currently accredited by the National Commission for Certification Agencies (NCCA).
NCCAOM has a number of certification options available including: Diplomate of Acupuncture; Diplomate of Chinese Herbology; Diplomate of Oriental Medicine.

Formal Education
Applicants must meet the requirements below to sit for the NCCAOM examinations.
1. The educational program must have oversight by Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) or an international government, private agency, or association, society or organization.
2. The applicant must graduate from a program that meets the education standards set by ACAOM including the correct distribution of hours/credits per program. -
Apprenticeship
Applicants who cannot meet the requirements of formal education may adopt apprenticeship to apply. HongJing international education is capable of providing applicants with premium preceptors.
